Fukuoka, JAPAN – February 1st, 2024 – Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space, Inc. (iQPS) released its Spotlight mode (high-resolution mode) images from QPS-SAR-5, named “TSUKUYOMI-I”. As QPS-SAR-6 “AMATERU-III,” which has already begun commercial service, TSUKUYOMI-I also has capability to observe at 46cm azimuth and range resolution, the highest in Japan for a private satellite.
TSUKUYOMI-I was launched on December 15th, 2023, by Rocket Lab’s Electron, with the mission named “The Moon God Awakens.” Approximately one month later of calibration, on January 17th, 2024, TSUKUYOMI-I unveiled its first light. After a steady adjustment process, we are pleased to announce the release of Tsukuyomi-I’s images in spotlight mode. The next step is to start providing services, and we are working diligently to coordinate operations to achieve this goal.
